High quality student work: Shaping self and forming the world

Within the Christian Deeper Learning framework of Teaching for Transformation, teachers root their learning within God’s story (See the Story!) through the articulation of a Deep Hope.

History teacher Cole McClain of Denver Christian’s Deep Hope for his Grade 11/12 U.S. History students is “that we become storytellers who faithfully remember the stories of the past and truthfully retell the stories of all people in order to graciously reclaim the Story of God in our lives and in His world.”

And, so, launching from here, he invited his History students into the creation of a magazine entitled Let Justice Roll Down. Listen to Cole share the story of how he invited, nurtured and empowered his students to play their part in God’s story by producing this high quality work that both forms the learner and shapes the world.
